    Room: Main Shrine Room
“In daily life we don’t have to create the concept of letting go, of being free, or anything like that at all. We can just acknowledge the freedom that was already there - and just by the memory of it, just by the idea of it, there is a quick glimpse. A sudden glimpse. That sudden glimpse of awareness that occurs in everyday life becomes the act of compassion." ~ Trungpa Rinpoche from 'Glimpses of Mahayana'

The term "Glimpse”, was often used by Trungpa Rinpoche to describe the mind’s return to its natural state of openness.  We will use his book Glimpses of Mahayana, based on teachings given in 1973, to explore his view of how these flashes of awareness are the experiential basis for the vastness of Mahayana practice.

Over 6 classes we will do a close reading of this text, as well as, from selected readings on 'Training the Mind'. The format will be a presentation followed by ample time for discussion and is open to all.

    Teacher, David Nudell

For the class, everyone needs to do the reading as it makes for a more lively and informed exchange of ideas. Please read Chapter 1, Good News Bad News, for the first class.
