New Community Room & Schedule Updates

There have been a number of exciting changes, recently, at the Halifax Shambhala Centre, including new hours and open sitting times.

Come by for a visit. Enjoy some tea, browse a book from our library, or join in for an open house or public meditation session!

  • New Centre Open Hours – all welcome!

    We have NEW open hours! Tuesday-Friday noon-5 p.m.! Drop by and visit our brand new community space! Grab a cup of tea, browse a book, talk with friends, or simply be!

  • Weekly Open House Resumes

    The popular Weekly Open House (“Taste of Shambhala”) has resumed!  This is a perfect introduction to the Shambhala teachings and mindfulness meditation, as well as an opportunity to connect with other practitioners. 

    The open house is an opportunity to meditate in a supportive group setting, learn about how to apply the principles of meditation to daily life, and meet and mingle with fellow Halgonians interested in mindfulness.

    The evening begins with vegan soup at 6pm, followed by meditation instruction and group practice at 7pm and a talk by one of our senior teachers with discussion. Bring your friends!

  • Open Meditations (Free)

    Sunday Meditation – Continues to meet each week from 9am-noon.  All are welcome to come to meditate for part of or the entire session.

    Weekday morning & evening meditation – Continues with a new schedule: Monday-Friday mornings 7:30-8:30 a.m. and Tuesday & Wednesday evenings 5:30-6:30 p.m. For more details, go to Open Meditation.
