Sitting Meditation

First-time meditators are welcome and encouraged to attend our weekly Open House for meditation instruction.   There is no charge and no need to register.   For more information, read about Open House: Taste of Shambhala

Public Meditation Schedule


Weekday Meditation

Give yourself a gift of daily space. Open to all, no charge.

Monday – Friday: 7:30-8:30 am and 5:30-6:30 pm – * NOTE: See temporary schedule change, below.

Note that the room location for evening practice may change depending on availability at the time.  Check with the receptionist when you arrive for that evening’s location.

* Because of building renovations taking place at the Halifax Centre, the following programs are suspended until September: 

  • Weekday Daily Sitting
  • Taste of Shambhala
  • Heart of Recovery
  • Social Meditation


Weekend Morning Meditation

 

Sunday mornings from 9 am to noon – Mindfulness-awareness meditation alternates with brief periods of walking meditation, led by an experienced meditation student or instructor.  Individual meditation instruction is also available, with a meditation instructor on site.  Open to all, no charge.

Note that the centre room location for meditation practice may change depending on availability at the time.  Verify when you arrive for that morning’s location.
