Winter Solstice & Children's Day Candlelight Ceremony
Winter Solstice & Children's Day Candlelight Ceremony
Thursday, December 20th
5pm
Follow the path of light to discover the magic within! Please join us for song, joy, and community as we mark the changing of seasons with our families!
This evening candlelight ceremony marks Winter Solstice and Children's Day. The celebration is for our entire community, friends and families. By acknowledging the coming winter, we connect with, and celebrate, the elements of the natural world.
What you need to know to make this enjoyable for everyone:
The ceremony will begin promptly at 5:00 pm.
There will be Hosts and Kasung present for your safety and comfort.
The doors to the Main Shrine Room will open at 5pm, and we will enter together as a community, quietly.
You will be handed a lit candle on the way in, people will be present to assist children in placing them in front of the shrine.
If you feel you or your child will need a snack please feel comfortable to bring one, we will not be providing one on the way in. Covered beverage containers are permitted in the space.
There will not be a formal reception afterwards, but you are welcome to catch up with friends and family in the community room following the ceremony.
Please remember we strive to be a scent sensitive environment. No fragrances please.
