"This very moment is the perfect teacher."
– Pema Chodron

Whether we’re over-eating, over-spending, over-Netflixing, or just plain overwhelmed, the swirl of our minds can begin to confuse what’s clear, simple, and profoundly rewarding: the present moment.
The heart of meditation practice is learning to rest in the present moment and find contentment with what is going on around us.

Irritation may always arise, but when we interpret these thoughts and feelings as cold hard facts to be acted upon, dissatisfaction devours our time and energy, and life becomes a chore.

Contentment in Everyday Life offers an experiential training in learning to appreciate what is in front of us and relate to our world with curiosity and friendliness.

This course serves as a practical how-to guide for experiencing simplicity, gentleness, and mindfulness in daily life. Each class gives us the tools to get from a place of confusion to a place of contentment—right here, right now.

In this course, students will continue to learn basic mindfulness meditation and receive the Shambhala Contentment Contemplation to study and practice. Through guided meditation, talks, contemplation, and group discussion, we gain an understanding of unconditional contentment and start to appreciate the lives we have already.

Please plan on attending each session of the program.

No prerequisite: This course is open to all.
