Shambhala Day 2018: Year of the Earth Dog
You are warmly invited to join us for Shambhala Day. Shambhala Day is a day of community practice and celebration to mark the new near according to the Tibetan lunar calendar. On Shambhala Day, we express our appreciation, not only for our teachers and teachings, but also for our connection to each other and the basic goodness that binds our global community together.
Year of the Earth Dog
This coming year is the Earth Dog Year. In the animal zodiac, dog year individuals are the most humanitarian, are selfless givers, and strive for justice and equality. They are fiercely loyal, decent, and courageous and are also magnanimous and prosperous. With the added element of earth, the energy of the dog is efficient, grounded, and vigilant.
We can all aspire to bring the generosity and stability of the Earth Dog Year into our lives and local communities this coming year and to further the critical work of Shambhala to transform fear and aggression into wisdom and compassion. The world has never needed it more.
