Celebrating the Life of the Dorje Dradül
Shambhala Archives cordially invites you to a number of events in celebration of the life of the Dorje Dradül—commemorating the 30th Anniversary of his Parinirvana.
On Tuesday, April 4, 2017, there will be an all-day exhibit of the Dorje Dradül’s personal belongings in the Tenno room on the second floor of the Halifax Shambhala Centre. The Sadhana of Mahamudra and feast will begin at 6pm. A film from the archives vault, of the Vidyadhara teaching, will be shown during the feast section. Toasts and stories are welcome!
A celebratory weekend of Dharma Art, April 8 and 9th, with demonstrations of Kyudo (contemplative archery), Ikebana (contemplative flower arranging), Chado (tea ceremony) and Bugaku (sacred dance) will be held, details and schedule to be announced.
Exhibit and sale of prints of the Dorje Dradül’s artwork, calligraphies, art photographs and historical photos will be held in the Snow Lion Room on both days, April 8-9.
Fundraising for Shambhala Archives will take place throughout the weekend, through sales of the Dorje Dradül’s and Lady Diana’s artwork. As well, we will hear from our Archives staff about the exciting projects in 2017 and beyond.
Come celebrate the life of the Dorje Dradül, Chogyam Trungpa Rinpoche, founder of Shambhala, through art and dance.
