Bodhisattva Vows
with Acharya Moh Hardin Sun June 3rd: 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM In Room(s): Main Shrine Room The bodhisattva vow is a further commitment to put others before oneself and to work wholeheartedly for their benefit. The basis of this vow is the aspiration to develop friendliness, compassion, and genuine insight through the practice of the six paramitas and to undertake the view and practice of the mahayana.
Recommended preparation classes: Relative and Absolute Bodhicitta course, with Tim Addison - dates to be confirmed A Little Book of Love: A Workshop, with Acharya Moh Hardin - Saturday June 2nd, 9am-5pm
Recommended preparation readings: The Bodisattva Vow: A Sourcebook; -and/or- The chapter "Bodhisattva Vow" from The Heart of the Buddha; both works by Chogyam Trungpa Rinpoche
Requirements: Having taken Refuge Vow. (At least 6 months prior to taking the Bodhisattva vows is strongly advised.) -and- A recommendation from one's meditation instructor. (see contact info below)
The day will include orientation teachings regarding the vow ceremony and a short meeting with the preceptor in the morning. The vow Ceremony will take place at 3h00 in the afternoon. The day will conclude by a reception at 5h00pm, in the Snow Lion Room.
Those who have taken the vow previously may witness the ceremony.
