Shambhala Day 2017
You are warmly invited to join us for Shambhala Day. Shambhala Day is a day of community practice and celebration to mark the new near according to the Tibetan lunar calendar. On Shambhala Day, we express our appreciation, not only for our teachers and teachings, but also for our connection to each other and the basic goodness that binds us together.
Year of the Fire Bird
The Bird is associated with dawn and awakening, so it is said that the Year of the Bird (Hen) values discipline and hard-work; never giving up and seeing each day as a fresh start. The Year of the Fire Bird highlights loyalty, commitment, and integrity. There can sometimes be a tendency for impulsiveness in the quick flames of the Fire Bird Year, but generosity, courage and strong principles calm the impetuous nature of this time. The Fire Hen is social, and reminds us that the power of community is the support and encouragement that we can offer each other.
