Community Practice and Meditation
Our open meditation practice consists of silent sitting,
alternating with brief periods of walking meditation, concluding with brief chant of dedication.
First-time meditators are encouraged to attend our
weekly Open House for meditation instruction. There is no charge and no need to register. For more information, read about the Open House or contact the centre.

Public Meditation Schedule
Give yourself a gift of daily space. Open to all, no charge.
Monday- Friday: 7 to 8 am, 9 to 10 am, and 5 to 6 pm.
First Friday of the Month: 7 to 9 pm
Note that the room location for evening practice may change depending on availability at the time. Check with the receptionist when you arrive for that evening's location.
Sunday Morning Meditation
Every Sunday, the Shambhala Centre offers a group session of sitting practice.
Mindfulness-awareness meditation alternates with brief periods of walking meditation, led by an experienced meditation student or instructor. Individual meditation instruction is also available, with a meditation instructor on site. Open to all, no charge.
Sunday mornings from 9 am to noon.
Note that the centre room location for Sunday practice may change depending on availability at the time. Verify when you arrive for that morning's location.
- Way of Shambhala - is a complete introduction to the foundations of Shambhala Buddhism. This series of workshops and classes is an experiential overview of meditation practices, wisdom teachings, contemplative arts, and physical dissciplines rooted in the ancient traditions of Shambhala and Tibetan Buddhism.

- Sadhana of Mahamudra - In this powerful hour-long practice, we chant a liturgy composed by the
Vidyadhara Chögyam Trungpa Rinpoche, which connects us with the Kagyü and
Nyingma lineages of enlightened Vajrayana Buddhist teachers.
Conducted on the full and
new moon of every month. Open to all.
